Featured Ports and Scenic Cruising

Holland America Alaska Cruising Glacier Bay National Park
Marvel at nature's unrelenting power as you witness the birth of massive icebergs calving from gigantic glaciers. Glacier Bay National Park has more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else on earth. As a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site, Glacier Bay National Park also protects a unique ecosystem of plants and animals. Search for humpback and killer whales, Stellar sea lions and harbor seals, moose and bald eagles.

Holland America Alaska Cruising Hubbard Glacier
Glaciers are seldom known for the ability to travel quickly, but Hubbard Glacier has been regarded as the "Galloping Glacier". Hubbard Glacier is the largest tidewater glacier on the North American continent. A tidewater glacier calves when giant pieces of ice crack off the head of the glacier and fall into the sea. The glacier stretches 76 miles into the sea at Yakutat Bay and Disenchantment Bay.

Juneau, Alaska
Founded as a gold mining camp in 1880; Juneau became the state capital in 1959 when Alaska was granted statehood. Today Juneau is a hub for wilderness adventure: dog sledding, whale watching, glacier hiking and sports fishing are just few of the possibilities. Sample excursions: Best of Juneau! Whale Watching Quest, Mendenhall Glacier & Alaska Salmon Bake; Douglas Island Sea Kayaking; Underground Juneau Gold.

Skagway, Alaska
This Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park boasts restored buildings, wooden boardwalks and the famed White Pass & Yukon Route Railroad, which is steaming through its second century of traveling "The Scenic Railway of the World." Sample excursions: Heli-Hike & White Pass Rail Adventure; Dog Sledding & Glacier Helicopter Flight.

Ketchikan, Alaska
Home to the world's largest collection of standing totem poles and Saxman Native Village, Ketchikan offers an in depth understanding of the history and living culture of southeast Alaska's Native Americans. Sample excursions: Totem Bight Park & City Tour; Saxman Native Village; Wilderness Guided Fly Fishing.

Sitka, Alaska
A fascinating blend of Russian history and Tlingit native culture, explore Sitka's Russian styled architecture and the artifacts and Tlingit totem poles at Sitka National Historic Park. Sample excursions: Bird Watching & Nature Walk; Sea Otter Quest & Alaska Raptor Center.

Victoria, British Columbia
Founded in 1843 as a Hudson's Bay Company outpost, today Victoria is a charming reminder of Canada's British colonial past.
